Trinamool MP Jawhar Sircar has written to Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, warning against the risk in shifting 2-lakh artefacts out of the National Museum. In a separate letter to Union Housing Minister Hardeep Puri, Sircar has questioned the urgency to demolish the National Museum building ahead of Krishi Bhavan and Shastri Bhavan. It was in May this year that the Centre had announced that museum’s exhibits would be shifted to a new museum called Yuge Yugeen Bharat in the refurbished North and South Blocks.
Indian cuisine is popular all over the world. Now, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations has hit upon a unique idea to recognise those who are serving the country’s culinary cause in foreign lands. It has started an Annapurna Certificate Programme to recognise restaurants abroad that promote Indian culinary and cuisine traditions. The names of the first batch of recipients of the 2023 certificate will be announced on October 16.
